Marktpl. 1, 71063 Sindelfingen

The middle town hall from 1843-1845 now houses the Sindelfingen City Gallery, which was opened in 1990 as a museum for modern and contemporary art. For this purpose, the classicist building was redesigned in 1987-1990 by the Berlin architect Josef Paul Kleihues and given a postmodern octagonal extension. The reason for this was the acquisition of an important private collection of southern German art from the late 19th and 20th centuries by the city in 1986. Since then, the collection has been systematically expanded. There are regular exhibitions and events, especially on contemporary art.
